Medical Training Therapy
While most patients in Cyprus are accustomed to visiting physiotherapy facilities for their rehabilitation, dAthletes goal and main focus is to provide our patients with an uplifting, encouraging and positive environment, where we are treating injuries with our active therapy approach. Through a controlled process we periodically adjust the rehab plan. dAthletes preferred therapy-concept is functional therapy, in which a training program with specific, evidence based exercises will show you the way back to your sport, work and everyday life. Assessments and movement screenings provide measurable therapy progress. For example, a Return to Competition Test (RTC-Test) after your ACL-tear rehab is one way dAthletes will see if you are ready to put yourself back in the field again. With this, we want to show you your everyday achievements and motivate you throughout your entire therapy.
Indications for an orthopedic training therapy:
- Spine syndromes, e.g. disc prolapse, chronic lower back pain
- Joint diseases, e.g. arthritis (knee, hip, etc.)
- Muscle and tendon injuries, e.g. hamstring strain, tendinosis
- Ligament injuries, e.g. ACL - tear
- Surgeries e.g. after fractures (broken bones)
Athletic Training
Professional athletes demand specialized training due to the specific, unique and broad requirements of numerous and various athletes. Many years experience in athletic training with professional athletes of varied sports gives dAthletes the expertise to satisfy the specific needs for every athletes. dAthletes will help you to recognize through our multiple assessments tools any weak spots. Together we are going to build training targets. Our goal is to make you reach your goals and make you a better athlete.
FRC® Mobility
"Functional Anatomy Seminar instructors are handpicked based on their knowledge of anatomic structure, functional anatomy, and manual skill. They are at the forefront of the current research regarding health care, injury management, and performance training."
Through the of Functional Range Conditioning principles, we are going to design your own customized mobility program. We assess your present mobility level and identify potentially problem areas. With this approach we will be able to provide you a detailed mobility plan based on those results and what you aspire to accomplish. Mobility is the key to flexibility. Mobility is defined as the combination of controlled movement, strength through this specific movement and flexibility. At dAthletes we want to teach you how to extend articular ranges of motion, to gain control of these new ranges and to use this mobility in functional movement.
Strength & Conditioning
Primarily, we use strength & conditioning as a method to achieve any and all goals you have; whether to perform better in your sport, prevent injury, to be more productive at work, to lose weight or simply live a healthier lifestyle. With dAthletes training planning, we build a long term plan which provides progression and individualisation. In today's world of strength and conditioning, often the goal is to exhaust and fatigue the client with new, faux- intense exercises. dAthletes goal is not to fatigue you after every session, but to control gradual training intensity. Soreness is not dAthletes measure of a successful, proper training session. With exercise progressions and regressions we can learn to manage this training output.
Through continuous functional movement patterns, the physical potential is tremendous. dAthletes focus is on every form of muscular contractions. In practice, we use a large number of exercise variations tied to different times under tension. A training plan can vary from dynamic movement to slow movement with negative moments - lasting 3 to 8 seconds for example, or a simple isometric hold. We have the expertise and versatility to use several methods to accomplish physical strength.
After setting the initial training targets, a solid conditioning plan is created based on the specific needs of the client. Conditioning can include running, sled exercises, assault bike, rower machine, and many more. We always monitor the heart rate to ensure the highest efficiency. For example, we can use with the assault bike short intervals and monitor the training via heart rate after defining the resting heart rate. We then determine an appropriate stimuli for your endurance development, through careful consideration of multiple variables.
Weight Loss
Everyone of us have seen those quick-hit success stories on social media. Popular fad training programs like "4 - week summer body" , "how to lose 5 kg in just a week" and many more from online sites or fitness coaches are unfortunately ruining the fitness and health industry. It is impossible for one umbrella exercise program to be equally successful for everyone. The message of these programs mean well; losing weight can be easy and anyone can do it, but in order to naturally obtain your desired figure and keep it- you need an individual plan. In dAthletes we want to understand your body and help you to achieve your goals through personal or course training. We want you to make real long term progress while having fun working out with our family.
Youth Training
"Kids that are growing are in a very natural anabolic state and can make crazy progress. Training during puberty is like legal steroids."
Michael Boyle (Coach at MBSC STRENGTH & CONTITIONING)
Resistance training through functional movements can be one of the best methods to gain strength before, during and after puberty. Young girls and boys can increase enormous muscular strength, which will have an impact on fundamental movement skills, such as running speed, change of direction speed, endurance and/ or muscular power. An early engagement in strength training can reduce the risk of injury in young athletes. In dAthletes we can ensure a proper training plan for teenagers, based on fundamental movements with the goal to develop their physical performance as they are growing.
